Creative Ways to Get Walls Clean
Many don't even think about cleaning their walls, but it is very important to take the time to clean your walls every couple of months. This is especially the case if you have children. It is very easy for finger prints to get on the wall. Painting every few months can add up to a lot of money. That is why it is best to just take the time to clean the walls.
It can be difficult to get the walls clean without stripping off the paint. There are several ways that you can do this. Of course it does depend on what type of paint you have on the wall. Flat paint will come off the walls a lot easier than a high gloss paint. The first thing that you will need is an eraser. I have found that the Mr. Clean magic eraser, should be used to get marks off the wall. Next you will need a sponge and a bucket of soapy water. You only need a small amount of soap and a small amount of water. Take the sponge and give each wall a few wipes down.
You will want to avoid wiping the wall too hard, or using the scrubber side of the sponge. You want to simply remove the dirt from the wall. Be sure to rinse out the sponge after each wipe. In addition to removing the dirt you will also be removing the dust from the wall. If you want to avoid making a big mess on the floor, you can use a spray bottle. Take an old spray bottle and fill with soapy water. Then spray a few squirts on the wall and wipe it down. You will want to use a toothbrush to get the molding clean. Just dip a new toothbrush into the soapy water and use it to scrub the edges of the molding. You should also use the scrub brush to get rid of any dirt that may be lingering in the corners.
I would highly recommend that you not use any ammonia to clean the walls. A very small amount of bleach in the soapy water will help to get dark spots off of the walls. To help freshen up the house a bit I have found that adding a bit of fresh lavender leaves to the soapy water is a good idea. Be sure that if you add the lavender leaves in the water you don't add any additional items like bleach. Adding the lavender leaves to the bunch gives your house a fresh overall scent which is really nice.
For the ceilings I have found it best to use a wet swifter cloth to wipe the ceiling. You can very easily give it a good wash. Remember that the main idea of the ceiling is to get rid of the dust that tend to accumulate up their.
The nice thing about cleaning the walls and ceilings is that it only has to be done about twice a year to make sure that your home is fresh and clean. Remember that it is your home, so be creative. Try some of the ideas above to get your home clean and fresh. It is also a good way to keep your home environment healthy.
