Handy Trends Long Handle Windshield Wiper, I thought to myself "now that could come in handy".
I love a clean car, and our car is kept immaculate. We were in a car accident once, years ago, and the policeman who filled out the report made mention of how meticulously clean the inside of our car was. The one area that I find the hardest to clean is the inside of my windshield. There is no way to get even my small hands all the way down into the crevice where the glass meets the dash. Enter the Handy Trends Long Handle Windshield Wiper.
This product is made of black plastic, and has a long 13 1/2" handle. At one end of the handle is a small, flat, rectangular shaped disc, which pivots back and forth. The end of the handle that you hold is slightly angled, and is also a bit wider, which makes holding it comfortable and you can get a good grip on it, even if it gets wet.
The Handy Trends Long Handle Windshield Wiper comes with a light green microfiber cleaning cloth cover. This cover has elastic all around the edges, and it stretches to fit over the head of the unit - then when you let go the elastic tightens up to make for a tight fitting cover.
To use this product, you don't have to apply glass cleaner, but can use simple tap water. Of course, if you live in an area with hard water, I would suggest using distilled water, so as not to leave any hard water deposits on your glass. I like to use glass cleaner, as I feel it does a better job than any type of water, distilled or not.
To use, spray the microfiber cloth (or the vehicle windshield) with cleaner or water, then use the long handled product to get flush against the window, and it will even get down into the sharp crevices that are so hard to reach!
The only issue with the Handy Trends Long Handle Windshield Wiper is that it takes some elbow grease to get the wiper pushed against the windshield with enough force to totally clean
and dry the glass. Just in the same way you would clean any standard glass window, cleaning glass takes pressure and eblow grease. It'is no different with this product, but it does give you the tools to
reach all areas of your windshield that would otherwise (at least for me) be off limits.
I think the microfiber cloth head maintains it's cleaning abilities if you wash it and let it dry. Do not add any liquid fabric softener or dryer softening sheets to the dryer, as these can leave a film or residue on the cloth, which will compromise it's cleaning abilities in the future.
The Handy Trends Long Handle Windshield Wiper sells for $5.99 online, but you can buy two for $9.98, saving a couple of dollars. Where they get you is on the shipping fee, which was $10.99! It was only $3.99 to ship to New York, so depending on where you live expect to pay different rates.
